1. Introduction

Welcome to TipFolio ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the TipFolio mobile application, website at tipfolio.app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

TipFolio helps tipped workers log shift income and generate IRS Form 4070A and related export documents. By default, your tip logs and employer details are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

For purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws where applicable, the operator of TipFolio is the data controller for personal information processed through the Service, unless we state otherwise for a specific activity (for example, payment processing by Apple or Google).

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to operate the Service.

3.1. Tip and profile data (stored on your device)

When you use the app, you may enter:

• Shift dates, cash tips, tip-outs, and related earnings data
• Employer name and address (optional)
• Your legal name and default hourly rate (optional)
• Exported PDF, CSV, and backup files you create

This information is stored in a local database on your device. We do not receive or store your tip logs on our servers unless you later use an optional cloud feature we clearly describe at that time.

3.2. Device backup files (under your control)

You may export an encrypted backup file to storage you choose (for example, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or email). We do not access that file unless you send it to us for support. You are responsible for where backups are stored and who can access them.

3.3. Subscription and purchase information

If you subscribe to TipFolio Pro, purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We receive subscription status and product identifiers needed to unlock Pro features. We do not collect or store your payment card numbers.

3.4. Support communications

If you email support@tipfolio.app, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your email address, device model, and app version). Please do not include full tip logs or sensitive financial details unless necessary to resolve your issue.

3.5. Website and technical data

When you visit tipfolio.app, our hosting provider (for example, Cloudflare Pages) may process standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations. We do not use tipfolio.app to collect your in-app tip data.

3.6. What we do not collect in the current app version

As of the effective date above, TipFolio does not:

• Require an account or collect your email inside the app
• Upload tip amounts to our analytics or advertising platforms
• Sell your personal information

If we add optional analytics, crash reporting, or cloud sync, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before new collection begins.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide core features (logging shifts, totals, exports)
• Verify Pro subscription status through RevenueCat
• Respond to support requests
• Operate and secure the website
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
• Improve the Service when you voluntarily share feedback

We do not use your locally stored tip logs for advertising or sell them to third parties.

5. How We Share Information

We do not share your tip log contents with lenders, employers, or tax authorities. You choose whether to share exported forms.

6. Data Retention

• On-device data: Remains until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, or use "Clear all data."
• Backups you export: Retained wherever you store them, under your control.
• Subscription records: Retained as required by app stores and RevenueCat for billing and tax compliance.
• Support emails: Retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable business records.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the data we process:

• Local database storage on your device
• Industry-standard practices for subscription validation
• HTTPS for the website

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device and backup files.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing.

Because tip data is stored on your device, you can:

• View and edit data in the app
• Export or delete data using in-app tools
• Uninstall the app to remove local data (after backing up if needed)
• Manage subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings
• Contact support@tipfolio.app for privacy requests related to information we hold

9. Children's Privacy

TipFolio is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Users

TipFolio is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. U.S. State Privacy Notice

Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, email support@tipfolio.app with "Privacy request" in the subject line.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at tipfolio.app/privacy and update the "Last Updated" date.
